Special Technique
Magic Ring
Wrap yarn around your left middle finger twice, leaving a 6″ (15 cm) tail. Insert hook under both strands and pull up a loop. Ch 1, and begin working directly into the center of the ring. This ring can be tightened later by pulling on the yarn tail.
Special Stitch
St2tog = Stitch 2 together: This is similar to a sc2tog (single crochet 2 together), but with a small difference that makes it nearly invisible. Insert hook through the front loop of the 1st st, then the 2nd st to be decreased without performing a yarn-over in between, yarn over, and pull up a loop through both front loops. Yarn over and draw the remaining 2 loops on the hook.
